Windows 10 Upgrade? Yes – DO IT!
Windows 10 upgrade, not much is free in computers and certainly not from Microsoft but the Windows 10 upgrade is great, no operating system is perfect but being on the latest version really is a good idea, Windows 8 wasn’t all bad, quick to start up but no start was a bitter pill to swallow, I think that Windows 10 is a good combination between both 7 & 8 and I really think you should upgrade to Windows 10 today.
Reasons why you should do your Windows 10 Upgrade
Its Free! – Well until July 31st 2016 it is. After that it will set you back £100 for home or £190 for pro! Don’t miss out if you haven’t had the prompt to do your Windows 10 upgrade, you can do it manually from here.
The start button is back! – If you are still on Windows 7 you won’t understand but if you had Windows 8 you will understand the annoyance it caused.
Cortana – The new voice activated assistant, think of Siri for you laptop, she learns your name and everything!
Its pretty – when you compare it to the tired interface of Windows 7 it really shines, Microsoft have done a brilliant job of polishing the interface.
Windows Store – If you are upgrading from 7 you will have access to the Windows App store, lots of apps to use from your desktop rather than on a browser, there are some good and bad ones but it really opens it up.
Privacy – The biggest complaint so far is the ability to harvest data, to be honest I am not that bothered, I have nothing to hide and any data gathered will be used to personalise my search. See it as a good thing, there are steps you can take to change the settings, but it will always be there.
Ending Support for 7 & 8 – Microsoft is ending business support for old operating systems on July 17th, 2017. No more up dates, if your system runs into trouble or there is a security breach, there will be no updates for it. It would be advisable to be on a supported system at all times.
Show Desktop is back – The little bar that was lost in Windows 8 is back! Simple things.
Multiple Desktops – If you use a 2 or 3 screens at work it can be annoying at home without the option – but Windows 10 allows you to use more than 1 desktop, its very handy.
Roll Back – You can try it for 30 days and if you don’t like you can go back to Windows 7 or 8, it’s worth a try but I think if you upgrade you won’t want to go back.
Remember the free upgrade runs out July 2016, don’t miss the deadline!
